Thurs 5/24 Hello Brandon, I am so happy. Things are going my way. 10 good things: 1- I got stopped twice but only got warned for not having my seatbelt on. 2- EHCheney replied to me 9 days later. The next email was written before he met with us last Thursday.>Recourse\Inbox\x\vern jensen <phonev6@gmail.com>\May 14 (10 days ago)\to Howard\Dear Elder Cheney,
3 things:
1- I am giving Terry Hawks your email. He quit Reviewing in Finnish because of all the <unreadable> false blanks. I showed him how to send you the batch #. [Update: now I know you need the film number as well. 5/24]
2- I sent you some 5 or 6 batches at the beginning of last week, that had the above issue. You kindly responded to each one. I think you have much better things to do, so I did not continue.
When I start on a new project I will take advantage of this recourse again. You wouldn't believe how relieving it is to know something can be done.
3- This one might make you smile: I discovered divorce certificates mixed among some of the marriage certificates in Costa Rica. That has never happened in Italy where I have indexed for the last 3 years. I couldn't figure out why my indexers were leaving those entries blank until I read them closely.
Bonus- It is key/ important to check the previous image when I find one filled with blanks. It if often filled with blanks because the indexer did not know how to classify the image as DUPLICATE IMAGE.

to me
Thank you Brother Jensen for sharing your insights and for the concern you show for the accuracy of the records. Your decision to stop sending is a good one. The last time I sent an example in they said, thank you but this indexer has now been reported several times we have sent them a report and are not seeing change so their rights have been removed.
Sending this information periodically or on another project would be wonderful.
Thanks again for all the tremendous service you render in this marvelous work.
Elder Cheney
3- Brandon, I need periodic reassurance!! This works perfect. 4- I did not cough all night last night. Why? I took Molly’s blanket off the bed and hung it out for the wind to remove the fur/shed hair. I am shocked! It was making me sick! 5- I am getting efficient at my Chile [parte K] It has taken me 2 weeks but I am finally there. I did 6.5k on Tues and 8.5k on Wed. Guess what you get if you add those? 6- I was getting bored with reviewing today so I stopped and spent 2 hours indexing mortis in Brescia, Italy. It was the perfect break. I am not forced. I can choose. 7- I wrote 2 letters to my ward indexers yesterday. That is a first! I have 83 ward indexers. Here is what I wrote:
83 wonderful Indexers and Reviewers!

Mary Ann Walker wrote us her first message of the year. Did you see it on the stake menu?
I am so excited to have this calling in our ward. I am at the FamilySearch Center until noon and longer 6 days a week. We have computers galore and I would love to help you. My alias is Vincenzo at FS. I always wanted to have an Italian nickname. :)
Summer is coming. The youth will be more available. Could you believe the YW helping Sarah Nielson earn her YW Recognition Award? Awesome!

Bloomington Hills Stake - REVIEWERS NEEDED
May 13 2018
Thank you for all of the work you are doing in indexing! We have been asked by Brother Cheney (Salt Lake) to direct our efforts to reviewing. Since the change from two indexers/one arbitrator to one indexer/one reviewer per record, we are backlogged on reviews needed. If you have reviewing permissions, please concentrate your efforts there. Thank you! [Brandon, did you notice this is from the stake?]
Goal
May 23 2018
I asked Mary Ann Walker what our stake goal is this year. She said there isn't one! What? She said now we are doing ward goals! We have passed our first half million for this year! I texted our Quorum leaders, Tolman & Meinkey, that we should have a goal of 1 million reviewed this year and 100k indexed, Sister Walker said they were the ones to propose it to. Shortly after that I received my new calling. . . . Do you remember my first question? How many hours a week do you serve HF? This is a wonderful way to serve! I believe hours mean more than numbers but we can't document those. So we are stuck with numbers. God bless you in your efforts. Please feel invited to email me if you want to comment, share or question. Love you, Vern phonev6@gmail.com
Being able to communicate with my indexers made me feel helpful instead of helpless! Do you like feeling helpless? Argh, me neither! I haven’t received any help in my new calling. Sister Walker said she needed to respond to my email 4 weeks ago. No response yet. If Sister Walker just counts Sundays it has only been 4. But for me who works in it everyday it has been 4 weeks. Talk to me! Give me some guidance! Of course on the other hand I may be the only Ward Indexing specialist in the stake! :) 8- I am not dragging today. I feel energized. Take away that dog hair. 9- Bonnie is no longer working for Worldmark/ Wyndham. She quit last january! She has those two little kids that were costing her more in daycare than she was earning since Louis is working for Wyndham in Las Vegas everyday. I am so happy that the special care Lincoln is receiving at Little Valley Elementary with Principal Rob Stevenson is working. He just finished 1st grade. They keep going to get his special surgery done in Cincinnati, Ohio, to remove his tracheostomy but he has never been allergy free nor healthy. One trip after another. This May 31st it might happen. We’ll see. 10- Louis smoked and ate half the turkey I dropped of Saturday. When he dropped it off I got to visit with him for 10-15 minutes. I found out all kinds of wonderful things! For example: He sold his huge white Nissan truck which was costing him $1200 in gas a month. He has a special Nissan car on order. He paid $2,500 down and will lose it if he can’t make the delivery payment. He is planning to sell his Razor, dune buggy. He set up a big long tall zipline in his backyard for Lincoln’s birthday. Bonnie told him they had every toy imaginable. They didn’t need more toys. How about a zipline! They have a cave tunnel, a tramp, a cart slide all in the backyard already.
Fri 5/25 Good afternoon Brandon, I am not as happy today as I was yesterday. Variety is the spice of life. The Philippines are a very interesting place. Can you tell me 5 facts about the Philippines? Mexico City and the P had a close relationship for 270 years! Trade between them flourished. 1528-1898 they were Spanish! Then they became American! [wiki: Spanish rule during the 18th century
Colonial income derived mainly from entrepĂ´t {warehouse/ free port-vj} trade: The Manila Galleons sailing from the port of Manila to the port of Acapulco on the west coast of Mexico brought shipments of silver bullion, and minted coin that were exchanged for return cargoes of Asian, and Pacific products. A total of 110 Manila galleons set sail in the 250 years of the Manila-Acapulco galleon trade (1565 to 1815). There was no direct trade with Spain until 1766
Cebuano is spoken by about 21 million in middle Philippines. There is a couple that has come 4 or 5 Fridays and kicked me out of classroom A so they could do a long distance course with the Provo MTC. I watched a YT video about another Spanish language spin off spoken on some islands of the Philippines. @ I have pondered with you before about how every man will have the opportunity to hear the gospel in his own tongue. There are 800 languages spoken in Papua New Guinea where some of the last cannibals live. I watched a Nat Geo on YT about finding some cultural cannibals there last night. So my conclusion about the gospel is that: even though the BoM won’t be translated into all those languages there will be a convert who will be able to bear testimony to them. @ Switching languages is a pain. Birth records require and m or f for male or female in Italian. In Spanish they use H or M, hombre or mujer! Can you see the confusion?
