bruise the Savior’s heel by leading men to crucify Him. But through
his death and resurrection, Christ overcame death for all of us; and
through his atonement, he offers each of us a way to escape the
eternal ramifications of sin. Thus, Satan’s machinations have been
frustrated and eventually he will be judged, bound, and cast into
hell forever. (See Rev. 20:1–10; D&C 29:26–29.)\In Hebrew,
the word bruise means “to crush or grind.” Therefore, the very
heel that was bruised will crush Satan and will help us overcome the
world and return to our Father. As we use our agency to choose good
over evil, the atonement of Christ prepares the way for us to return

Heavenly Father as he watched a loved son incite and lead a rebellion
and lose his opportunity for exaltation. But we can also imagine the

through the bodies of others, but some are almost as rebellious
against God as Satan is. They want to destroy all good, all
happiness, all loyalty, all rejoicing, all gratitude, all
charity.\Now even though we are left growing and experimenting in
faith, doesn't it strengthen us to know the opposition?\>It is

share. I ordered 12 lbs of sliding fishing sinkers and they arrived
last Saturday. Tom Drum sent them to me by USPS-3 day mail! Can't
beat that! When ever I order something on ebay I know it is just an
experiment. I don't trust it yet! Guess how large a box the 12 lbs
came in? It was no bigger than a book of mormon! Could I lift it out
of my mail box? Just barely. It took multiple tries! I had no idea
how small 12 lbs of lead could be! BradL asked if I would sell him
100 ½ oz weights for 10cents each? Answer: Absolutely. Of course it
was really me that had made the offer. I dropped them off at his
house Saturday before noon and it seemed to hardly make a dent. @
Last year I took Colby Jack cheese and Swiss cheese and crackers for
an after class treat. Janice loves to compare the Bible to Swiss
cheese. It has empty pockets in it. So last night's comparison was
the opposite. I passed around my bible and my box of weights. The box
of weights represented the BoM with baptism, and plan of salvation,
revelation, and restoration, 3 witnesses and 8 witnesses, Nephi,
Mormon and Moroni (all heavy duty gospel sluggers) plainly tangible.
I couldn't help classifying the type of teaching aide it was. You
have heard of visual aides. When we ate the Swiss cheese that was a
savory aide. Well this was a tactile aide! Janice talked about the
sizzling hot letter Pahoran got from Captain Moroni! That was a
tactile aide image. So she got credit for using the first tactile
aide last night. I got credit for sharing the last one! And I loved
it. No one else seemed that impressed but I had written Plan of
Salvation, Happiness, Redemption, Mercy in great big letters on
the side bb. Shannon Jensen recently pointed out that none of those
are in the D&C! They are only in the BoM! Amazing! @ Julie, a 2nd
weeker, wanted to talk about Satan last night. So we had quite a
lengthy discussion about him and in general I feel any time spent on
Satan is wasted time. I testified strongly of our Lord's
submissiveness versus Satan's selfishness. Jesus Christ won't even
allow us to pray to him. He commands us to pray to our Father. He
gives all the glory to the Father. And he excuses the poor Nephites
that can't help but worship him when he visits them by saying: 19 And
it came to pass that Jesus departed out of the midst of them, and
went a little way off from them and bowed himself to the earth, and
he said:20 Father, I thank thee that thou hast given the Holy
Ghost unto these whom I have chosen; and it is because of their
belief in me that I have chosen them out of the world.21 Father, I
pray thee that thou wilt give the Holy Ghost unto all them that shall
believe in their words.22 Father, thou hast given them the Holy Ghost
because they believe in me; and thou seest that they believe in me
because thou hearest them, and they pray unto me; and they pray unto
me because I am with them.23 And now Father, I pray unto thee for
them, and also for all those who shall believe on their words, that
they may believe in me, that I may be in them as thou, Father, art in
me, that we may be one.24 And it came to pass that when Jesus had
thus prayed unto the Father, he came unto his disciples,@ There is a
prayer offered by JC. I underlined it. “and they pray unto me; and
they pray unto me because I am with them.” So it is almost like JC
is apologizing that his saints just can't help but pray unto him,
even though he has asked them to pray unto the Father, because the HG
has come upon them and JC is with them. @ I was a little upset with
how stupid everyone seemed to be about Satan's plan versus Jesus'
plan. As you can tell by what I wrote Janice I wanted her to know #1
Satan's plan was never viable! #2 Jesus' plan wasn't his, but the
Father's. Julie wanted to talk about HF's father and his father and
their Satan's. She had not yet come to the conclusion that there are
obedient and disobedient among all children. @ As I have read the
scriptures carefully I have come to the conclusion that among all
god's creations: atoms, elements, molecules, cells, organisms,
planets, stars, there are the obedient and nonobedient. The obedient
follow his commands. The nonobedient don't and are not part of his
kingdom. I am not going to volunteer the scriptures that are the
source of those conclusions. You can find them yourself or if you
just can't resist and have to know soon, then you can write and ask.

missionary letter #3 this year:
Bps, I have 3 loaners out right now: a brownie pan to the Haynie's, ETB biography to Pam Derfler, Conference CD to Hal Demke. I can pray and reach out more than I ever have at any time in the past. It is fun and it is suspenseful. Here is the letter I wrote our 5 missionaries yesterday and the email I wrote Sister Diana Larsen, the old owner of Cameo Florist, located right next to the cemetery.
ICU 3:56 PM (18 hours ago)to diana Dear Diana,2 weeks ago you were one of 3 people the High Priests group mentioned needed prayers. Jeff Whipple, Diana Larson and then Duane Derfler raised his hand and told us to include his wife Pam because she was having hip surgery the next day.\Today Tom Lamb announced you were doing poorly and in the intensive care unit. You are my music lister/ our ward program typist/ copier/ folder. How can you get sick?\I prayed for you that week and wondered if there were anything I could do. I prayed for the others as well. After Tom Lamb made that announcement today I asked if there was anything we could do besides pray? He shrugged his shoulders. His stiff back shoulders.\So I had my hour nap this beautiful Sunday afternoon and I am still wondering about you. Let me give you a list of options of things I could do and see if any of these work for you.
1- Tell you a joke.
2- Tell you a silly story about me.
3- Ask you about you.
4- Ask you to tell me something about your children.
5- Write you about our weekly church meetings.
6- Write you about all that is going on in my life and thoughts and general conference talks that are impressing me at the moment.
7- Record stories from the biography of GBH or ETB, in my own voice.
8- Read or record pages from your choice of a book you would like to listen to.
9- Tell you about my kids.
10- Tell you about my fishing excursions. This is only an option in the springtime when I am fishing.
11- Listen to you tell about things you are learning in the gospel.
12- Share with you things I am learning in my Thursday night singles book of Mormon class.
13- Share with you the most difficult thing I accomplish each day.
14- Have you share with me the most difficult thing you accomplish each day. It never hurts to brag on yourself. It gives us credit as well as HF.
15- Visit with you about our 6 ward missionaries.
16- Write a letter you dictate to me to our ward missionaries.
17- Give you a puzzle page helping to study each of the OT scripture mastery scriptures and compare your results with mine.
18- Bring my dog over for you to pet, or walk.
19- Make you some brownies or a cake without frosting. I don't do frosting.
20- Make you a ham dinner. I have done two of these for neighbors this year.
21- Sing you a hymn, and even the different parts if you want.
22- Read to you my favorite novel.
23- Write you verses of limericks outlining your life.
24- Pray for you and listen to your aches and pains and worries and concerns. This one comes in 5 minute increments. I'm not very good at it and would have to build up to longer time periods.
25- Help you write your personal history.
26- Take your husband out to dinner.
OK, so at least you can't say I did not give you any options! I have offered! And the offer is sincere!\I did not say, call me if you ever need any help . . .\I absolutely love General Conference talks. I listen everyday.\I do strange weird things sometimes. Hopefully helpful things. Since we have early morning church I have written our 5 missionaries with email addresses three times this year.\I will send you each of my letters to them. You don't have to read them but you can if you want. I try to keep them short. I have had nieces and nephews on missions and they only have an hour on a computer to write home each week and long letters would take up too much of that time. I have none out on missions right now.\

Since our church is 9-12 this year we have a long afternoon and evening free to do good works! God bless you 5.\I visited with Greg Walker in the library today. I told him how awesome it is that I can write once and send it to all 5 of you! I served in Guatemala '74-'76 and let me tell you. . . it was not like this!!!\1- Bishop Quincy Adams announced that they will need 600 temple workers for the Cedar City temple when it opens in December. Please let him know if you would like to serve. Isn't that exciting! That is so awesome! Last Sunday the French temple was dedicated.\2- Temple dedications haven't been that big a deal to me up until now. But I index everyday. That world is opening up to me. And every month and sometimes twice a month I get a note in my indexing box inviting everyone to learn to index in a new language, without having to know that language. They hold online training classes every Wednesday at 10am from SLC.\3- “Did you know there are 20 times more records available in English than any other language. Help us by learning to index in another language!” that is their byline.\4- We did D&C 76 in SS today with Jesse Bird teaching. He makes us think. I love it. There are a lot more question areas in that section than I thought there were.\5- We have a Snow Canyon HS basketball coach living in our ward. He is married to Kacee Randall. They are living with Tony and Michele Randall.\6- Kacee Randall Payne has 3 kids born 3.5 years apart and the oldest getting baptized. Monroe just got his Master's in exercise therapy and his now working at the hospital. It was fun to hear their pioneer stories today.\7- New Harmony to Pinto trek will start on Wednesday and end Saturday. Some of you remember going on that stake youth trek. We needed drivers for 35 youth and Mark Jensen, counselor, wrote them on the BB as assignments were accepted in priesthood opening exercises. Isn't it wonderful our stake does stuff like that!\8- Our “instant choir” was filled to overflowing today with visitors. Lots of Schroaths. They must be having a family reunion for Memorial Day weekend.\9- I knelt behind Tom Schroath on the last row before the meeting and told him this story: Just like Tom, GBHinkley had a cane in his later years. His doctor visited with his Counselor TSMonson and told him Gordon needed to use his cane and stop waving it to the audiences! Would TSMonson please follow up on that? President Monson said, “I am his counselor. You are his doctor. You tell him.”\10- I dissected section 124 this week and then I got online and read the institute lesson for it. I felt disgruntled as I studied. I don't like it when I can't understand. Since I was out fishing (it is still Spring in the mountains! Fish biting time!) I decided to make 2 lists. Things I can understand. Things I don't. There were two main things I did not understand. There were dozens I did understand. Now this may sound crazy. . .but by listing all the things I did understand the two little things I didn't understand receded into the background and became almost unimportant! That was not what I was expecting to have happen. What would have happened if I had ignored my feelings and not made any lists? I would have been frustrated inside and carried that disappointment around with me. Is this a secret? What do you do with your questions and doubts? Are you allowed to have doubts and questions?\Test my secret. See if it happens to you. Did I learn anything? Yep, tons! Why? Because instead of getting stuck on my doubt, question, non understanding, I looked at the other side, at the things I could understand from that section and they were beautiful concepts.\We are to feed our spirits everyday. If we don't the beautiful truths get forgotten.\I am memorizing Moroni 7. Wow, talk about beautiful! Moroni thought his father's talk was so beautiful he copied it for us. What do you think of Moroni's opinion?
