FamilySearch sent me a name for the temple

Sat. 12/30 Good noontide Brandon, Guess what wiki says about New Zealand? It says no one lived there until 1000ad. But there is a lady who owns Plumtree productions that has 3 documentaries defying that idea. And he evidence is excellent. There were blondes and gingers living in New Zealand 10K years ago according to her evidence. The dark hairs came much later. Egypt sent out 6 ships find Africa by going west. Those ships brought the polynesian rat and there are rat bones in New Zealand from 7k years ago etc. @ So I am going to go to the library today. Why not print off and send you your letter while I am there? Here goes! Gby-bltpjs-vj
Sat. 12/30 Even tide: I did something that left me awash with old emotional wounds today. I looked at the faculty and staff of TIS. I have been processing it all day. I even left messages for James Langston, Jenny Walker, Jen Shaw and Lisa Shaw. I want someone to help me process things. Tonight as I have been indexing I kept wanting an immediate response and then I realized I must be hurting inside. James Langston is in Oregon with his 3 year wife. Only 14 of 46 people are still there from when I was. I guess I have always known that there was a high turnover of Jr. High teachers. No one goes there and retires after 30 years like I did. It is so strange. I might have to go visit with my inner child to resolve this. @@@ Monday Jan 1, 2018 Happy New Year! Happy New Year Brandon! What’s been happening? List: 1- Bishop Adams will have half of his liver removed on Jan 11. 2- I worked very productively on my yearly ward phone list last night. I was so smart to take last year’s print out to Greg Brailsford so he would be able to match it. It took him awhile but that set me up to work on it last night. 3- Bishop says he feels just fine. That is strange, isn’t it! If I felt just fine I would not go in to have my liver removed. These are his last 2 facebook posts. He averages 171 thumbs ups on each of his posts. @@@Quincy Adams\December 1, 2017 · \Many people have been asking how I am doing? I feel completely and totally normal. Life is normal, nothing has changed.\I do have an update........today I was officially put on the liver transplant list. When will I get a transplant? Not quite sure.....6 months.....a year. I'm just hoping I will have all summer to surf and go to Lake Powell, and hopefully get some mountain bike runs in. I have my priorities straight.\I feel so blessed, I appreciate the prayers in my behalf. God does hear and answer prayers. If I have a turn for the worse I know that He still loves me. This life is not the only existence where God manifest his love, "life" doesn't end in this "life". His greatest blessing are not in this life but the next. So why would we think He loves us any less when this life ends, no matter how tragic or sad the circumstance? His love is infinite and eternal.@@@Quincy Adams\December 22, 2017 at 7:51 am · \They have decided to operate and remove the left side of my liver. This will, in their judgment, remove the cancer. Hopefully this will put off the full transplant for a little longer, however I’ll remain on the list for now. Thanks for all your prayers. @@@ 4- It was 5th Sunday joint meeting in RS room. EQ conducted: Tim Garner & Frank Haney. Kim Garrett and Bishop gave the prayers. Both bishopric guys. The topic was how to change the lessons to the new format. Group Discussions often in a circle, instead of lectures. Our SS president, Allen Hilton says he can name those who would not attend his preparation classes this year and who have guaranteed they won’t change their teaching style. Bishop got excited, agitated, intense near the end of the lesson. He studies a conference talk everyday and wishes all would! Me too! This fits me perfectly! 5- I helped FrankH carry out his special table centerpiece materials to his truck. He joked about how hard a time his wife would give him about it not being perfect if she had seen how he set it up. 6- I sat on the front next to Palmer’s1937s, and asked him what the topic would be. Because of the big wood framed pictures of Christ and JS, they are who he guessed. FrankH had rushed home and pulled them off his wall along with his Christ blocks and tree boughs. He cared enough to provide a centerpiece! Not me. 6- I sent an email, long, with lots of pictures for my home teaching message yesterday. I included all the comments on the bishop’s Facebook posts. 7- I heard 3 quotes I wanted to have in SS. I wrote key words and came home and looked them up and found them all in internet!Hello home teachees: Varlo, Andrea, Bruce, Eric,\You may have noticed you did not get a summary from me last Sunday. That was because Bruce invited me for a visit! Yay! Our first home teaching visit of the year.\“In your temporal things you shall be equal, and this not grudgingly, otherwise the abundance of the manifestations of the Spirit shall be withheld” (D&C 70:14)\How is your walk in the world going? Does the above quote seem impossible to you? ___\We had great meetings today. I also learned that the bishop will have his first operation on January 11!So the quote at the top seems impossible to me. I delayed commenting on it hoping to make you think about it and respond. Perhaps it is Satan persuading me but, how can we be temporally equal? The part I do like is the excuse it gives for us not having “the abundance of the manifestations of the Spirit.”\I like to find reasons. This gives me a reason why we don’t have an abundance of the manifestations of the Spirit! How could we ever be equal temporally? JS introduced the law of consecration/ in common / United Order in January 1831. Jesus Christ introduced it to his original apostles. How much of your life are you giving to God?\[[Consecrate, \Law of Consecration \See also Kingdom of God or Kingdom of Heaven; United Order\To dedicate, to make holy, or to become righteous. The law of consecration is a divine principle whereby men and women voluntarily dedicate their time, talents, and material wealth to the establishment and building up of God’s kingdom.\Consecrate yourselves to day to the Lord, Ex. 32:29.\All that believed had all things common, Acts 2:44–45.\They had all things common among them; therefore there were not rich and poor, 4 Ne. 1:3.\The Lord explained the principles of consecration, D&C 42:30–39 (D&C 51:2–19; 58:35–36).\One man should not possess more than another, D&C 49:20.\Every man was given an equal portion according to his family, D&C 51:3.\An order was established so that the Saints could be equal in bonds of heavenly and earthly things, D&C 78:4–5.\Every man was to have equal claim according to his wants and needs, D&C 82:17–19.\Zion can only be built up by the principles of celestial law, D&C 105:5.\The people of Enoch were of one heart and one mind and dwelt in righteousness, and there were no poor among them, Moses 7:18.\]] I was inspired by this quote in SS:Greater is he who subdues himself who captures and maintains the citadel of his own soul than he who misnamed conqueror fills the world with the roar of drums the thunder of cannon the lightning of swords and bayonets overtures and sets up kingdoms lives and reigns a king yet wears to the grave the fetters of unbridled lust and dies the slave of sin. Heber C KimballAnd this one:This promised Zion always seems to be a little beyond our reach. We need to understand that as much virtue can be gained in progressing toward Zion as in dwelling there. It is a process as well as a destination. We approach or withdraw from Zion through the manner in which we conduct our daily dealings, how we live within our families, whether we pay an honest tithe and generous fast offering, how we seize opportunities to serve and do so diligently. Many are perfected upon the road to Zion who will never see the city in mortality.8- TR taught Gospel Doctrine 2 weeks in a row. The first weeks was passable the second week was bad news. I have been spoiled by our wonderful teachers: Jesse Bird and Shannon Jensen. I am so sad. I gave Shannon a hug after her last lesson yesterday. She is so solid! Primary President, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, new Primary Chorister, Missionary mother, daughter married, Choir president who sends out text messages every Saturday night, wife to 2nd counselor. Change and decay in all around I see, oh thou who changest not abide with me. @@ I went to FS sunday school room yesterday to see what they do in there. Nothing. They can’t help me. If I had a laptop I could go in there and index but I don’t. So, I may depend a whole lot on my journal to make it through his lessons. I know callings are often for the person called. I am thrilled that TR came to church 2 weeks in a row. To tell you the truth I have a feeling he won’t last very long. What has pulled him and MR away from the church these last 5 years? I don’t know. @@@ Mitch 6 dared to share 3 things I found extemely insightful. HC & vice Principal at TIS. A- he has been facing a visit with a father who wants to sue him for suspending his son. Tomorrow morning that will happen. What a horrible holiday vacation I would be having it that were me. That poor guy. B- Our Stake Pres is a softy. He doesn’t want to offend anyone. “Unicorns and Rainbows” was the phrase M6 used. Saints have taken offense when he has sent them letters. For example one ward has 20% home teaching and the priesthood leader complained to Pres. Gil Almquist at the letter. What a joke! C- The church is working on the backs of volunteers. Many of those volunteers don’t want to do their whole calling. AS a sidelight I remember how difficult it was to change from quarterly reports to monthly reports. I felt like I was being imposed on. What a good time for a calling change. The new person just accepts the demands. @ I had two big emotional issues last week. HF helped me in a different way through each of them. By entering the FS ssclassroom I got to see how awful Mitch 6’s job really is at TIS. The first paragraph of this letter was resolved by that sharing of his. @@@Molly hated the fireworks seemingly all night last night. She crawled around me and over me many times for reassurance. I felt like celebrating new years day by shopping. It took hours to decide but I finally bought 5 books. One is for you. I sent you: Fall of Angels (1996) last time about Nylan and engineer. Here comes part 2 of his story, The Chaos Balance (1997). @ I was thinking about my grandkids here in town and the Where’s Waldo books. I couldn’t stand them as a parent. But for some reason they sounded fun to me today. I researched them and discovered that some people complain about how small the pictures got so that it was miserable to try and find Waldo. Also they published a tremendous variety of formats. You will remember that I loved sending you omnibus editions of Horatio Hornblower. They have all the Waldo books combined into omnibus editions. But is that good? Wouldn’t you feel overwhelmed if you had to find Waldo on 180 different pages? @ These are some of the questions I have wondered about. @ Tomorrow FS opens again so I can get back to double my daily vacation day goals. @@@ Family Search sends out emails if they know you. I just got one that says:We have a name for you to take to the temple. Would you like to know how you are related?Leonard Heard is the name they are offering me. Can you imagine a computer program that offers you temple names? Wow, have times ever changed. It make me glad to know the church thinks the internet is ours! The church thinks it has been invented by revelation for genealogy. Computers make so much genealogy possible and the millenium will need it!
