Rabbanah Alma 18:13
2/21/18
You may remember me wondering where 101 was. I checked out her book
and found it. :)
Thursday
2/22/18 Good morning Brandon, I have already reviewed 2k and I am
taking a break. I want to record a few things I have learned. Elder
SLCindex called Elder Tony Minardi at 2 yesterday and guided us
through the buttons on the Web indexing program on speakerphone. At
the end he encouraged TM to please be a reviewer since they are
millions of names behind. TM said, I’m not promising anything. :) I
liked that. As you can tell I am doing tons of reviewing. Things I
learned: 1- E. slc indexer said the most common mistakes he finds are
date mistakes. 2- I practiced using a fill entry button yesterday and
it was helpful. 3- Next to the trash button is an “add entry”
button and I can add 3 for morti records, much more efficient. 4- TM
is in the top indexers in the world. He and I were trying to figure
out when he was first notified of this pending phone call, why him
and not me? He decided it was because he is stake authorized and a FS
missionary. Now I think it is because they really want reviewers! 5-
This guy was great. He spoke clearly and listened carefully. We
wanted his number so we could contact him in the future. Nope, I
think he was a “salesman” for reviewing. And the email he sent
will be a direct line back for comments and questions. 6- I told him
he made us feel important. It was cool. @ So I have been shrinking
each time I have a glitch. I keep thinking “they have discovered me
and I am now in trouble”. Oh no, I am not allowed access to those
records any more! But an hour later it is all working again. Like I
said I think they are glitches in the new system. I open 2 tabs at a
time so that when one slows down I just switch to the other tab.
Reviewing is not very rewarding. The numbers don’t matter to me
other than a measure of if I have worked hard. 45 min for 1K review
or 45 minutes on 10 matrimonio records is the same to me. I think I
told you that my hand falls asleep on the mouse. So I have learned to
do 1-2k with my left hand and then 1-2k with my right hand. My typing
skills have improved tremendously since I started indexing 4 years
ago. That was a talent I sought. Reading Italian is also a strength
now. Switching to Spanish for reviewing works fine but indexing in
Spanish is hard. @ Anyway, Brother Pederson was born in 1926. 91 this
year. He is tall and quiet and hunched and stiff but experienced and
competent. TM admires him. I am trying wrap my mind around doing this
for 30 more years like he is! Man, I thought life ended at 60! Looks
like HF has taken advantage of our ability to retire in these last
days so we can do temple work. Imagine if there were no retirement
like was missing on the earth until this last century. He sure has
an intricate plan for accomplishing his work doesn’t he! It is so
important to me to be productive everyday.
