Swen Jensen

Sunday, 3/14/21, Daylight savings time started today. It was a little harder getting up for church. Hello BMXJ, I love you, I think you are wonderful! I sat down to work on my ward phone list. I’m mainly doing it for myself. I have done it every year in January but as you can see I debated whether or not to even do one. I discovered that I wanted to know the new ward members names so Here I go updating the old one even though it is March. It blesses me to have a list of everyone who is in the ward. @ But I got a better idea: Take a welcome to the ward treat to the Kunslers, John and Julie and a thank you treat to Joyce Webb, red hair, older, spoke in church today. She was wonderfully personal in her talk and I felt like I got to know her. JulieK choose the chocolate cherry tomato plant. JoyceW got the cinnamon drops. Hazel Bird wanted the rainbow drops and Lola preferred the butterscotch. Hace and I came home empty handed. :)

3/16/21 Tuesday.  Look what I found on FS today! My grandfather’s brother served a mission! Swen you win! My grandfather, Harald Arthur Jensen, died four years before I was born, leaving his wife with the remains of 11 children to raise, two sets of twins! As you know I have felt grumpy towards my ancestors because of the horrible abuse we suffered from my parents. But if I had a great uncle that served a mission I can’t help but be proud. I love everyone who serves a mission for the CoJCoLDS. We make a team. I am a journal keeper so I am also interested in any writings and true stories of my ancestors. Harald was Swen’s younger brother by two years. I know these guys struggled to survive and make it in America. New language and everything.

I know this is a little extreme. . . but I am fascinated by the life of this man.

Notice how he had to declare he was not an anarchist nor a polygamist. His signature looks like Sven but it is really Sverre. Who knows how that would be pronounced!
