Good afternoon Sunday,
A number of people during SS today shared temple experiences.
. Rat Hales shared how at times she has shared her testimony with the person she is proxy for and the response has come back to her, I know, isn't it wonderful. I agree with you.
. Elmer Rucker shared how he prays before he goes in that the person will accept the work and again when he is done.
. Joni Jardine shared she was young 19, going through the Salt Lake Temple her first time. She said there are wide stairs you have to walk down to go into the temple and then there is an open area. As she was crossing the open area to leave the temple her first time she found she couldn't move. She was just stuck there for about 2 minutes feeling overcome by the spirit of the work. She said, I couldn't move.
. Bp Q Sadams shared how his mind is racing when he goes in and he can't settle it down and focus.
. Cindi Bird talked about preparing before going as well.
.I had read Hezikiah's story this week in my new, wonderful Old Testament for LDS families, and I was captivated and shared the story of sending out letters to all the cities in the country and inviting them to come to a celebration for 7 days. Hez had a platform/wooden pulpit made in the street for him to speak from. He read to the people the book of the law from morn until noon. The people stood as soon as he started reading out of respect for the scriptures. After the first days reading the people began to cry, tearfully. They were devastated that they had never been told these things. Hez asked them to stop crying saying it is not your fault. It is a time to rejoice. Don't be sad. The people asked if they could follow what he had read and make huts on their rooftops and streets to live in for the next 6 days and not go into their houses. He said sure. So they did. I emphasized I would have a hard time standing and listening until noon. And that hearing the scriptures was a way to enter the temple as well. Of course I told it with all my dramatic flare. : ) Now I want to go read it again and see if I told it write. 2:14p
